Yixing has long been known as a world of caves. Shanjuan Cave — a famed limestone karst cavern and the first of Yixing's three wonders — covers about 5,000 square meters and stretches some 800 meters, its upper, middle, lower, and rear chambers all interconnected, each with its own scenery. Stop three: barbecue under the stars. After checking into a local hot-spring hotel and freshening up, we gathered at the barbecue camp. Evening beer, a soft breeze, and sizzling skewers — tender meat crackling over the grill, its aroma drifting through the camp, every juicy, well-seasoned bite waking up the taste buds.
Led by the general manager, the team lit a bonfire and circled it, running, leaping, singing, and dancing.
Colleagues with August birthdays made wishes over cake beneath brilliant fireworks — on such a beautiful night, with so many witnesses, those wishes are surely bound to come true.
As dusk fell and the moon climbed the treetops, its glow mingled with the camp lights on the rippling lake, scattering the surface with glittering silver like crumpled green satin.
The evening breeze carried the aroma of good food and the sound of singing, and happiness rolled merrily on with it.

Rooted Together, Shining Through Wind and Frost
On day two, the fourth stop was the Yixing Bamboo Sea. Known since ancient times as an ocean of bamboo, its verdant groves stretch for hundreds of miles, stalks young and old rising joint by joint, steeping hill and water alike in a sea of green.
Secluded paths wind through the groves; bamboo hedges line quiet trails; pavilions rest in leafy calm; boundless green grows wild and free — a cool green barrier shutting out the clamor and restlessness of the world.
The Taihu Spring within the Yixing Bamboo Sea is the closest of Lake Tai's five sources, earning it the title of First Source.
Following the winding mountain path, the spring threads leisurely through grove after grove before gathering into a mirror-like lake.
Resilient, tenacious, graceful, fearless, and green in every season, bamboo has been celebrated by poets and scholars since ancient times. Bamboo is also a communal gentleman: growing in stands, joined at the roots, sharing nourishment and weathering frost together. So it is with the Lingmin team — branches of one tree, dancing through wind and frost, destined for our own evergreen seasons.
