4. Everything You Need to Know About Common PDQ Display Boxes
1. What Is a PDQ?
In packaging, PDQ stands for Products Display Quickly — a quick display box. The term originated at Walmart as shorthand for fast product display, and in China it has become the general name for display boxes: any box that presents merchandise for sale can be called a display box.
Packaging works in layers. Outer product packaging mainly protects the product and extends the brand's presentation. Moving goods from factory to point of sale requires transit packaging, circulating to supermarkets, specialty stores, and other retail endpoints. Once there, products must sit on shelves where shoppers can see and reach them — which is where large volumes of POSM (Point of Sales Materials) come in. Across this chain, multi-layer packaging proves costly, labor-intensive, and cumbersome.
The PDQ — protection, display, and sales in one — emerged to solve exactly this. As international warehouse clubs such as Sam's Club and Costco expand rapidly in China, many skip intermediate packaging entirely, moving goods on PDQ-plus-pallet straight to the sales floor. Stackable PDQs replace shelving outright, combining transit, display, and merchandising to cut costs and simplify presentation.2. PDQ Advantages
